Archetypal American Landscape
In 1975, I set out to paint in major American landscape sites – ones that prominently represent our country. I wanted to know what so deeply inspires us by their very presence. I camped and painted and drew at each site during a two-month period and culminated there with very large-sized (80”x128”) paintings.
